The Seefeld mountains for leisurely hikers, keen alpinists and nature lovers
We have noticed among our guests that there are three types of hiker. And in Seefeld, with over 650 km of hiking, mountain and climbing routes, there is something for every one of them. Leisurely hikers, often accompanied by their four-legged friends, can take in the impressive Seefeld mountain panorama in a completely relaxed way, thanks to the plateau setting with its wide, level promenades. Ambitious alpinists can discover new tours every day in the Wetterstein range, the Karwendel and beyond, and conquer legendary peaks such as the Birkkarspitze at over 2,700 m or the Grubenkarspitze at over 2,600 m. For families, nature lovers and anyone who likes to engage their mind while walking, themed and adventure trails such as the "Ice Age Trail", the "Mental Power Trail" or the "Bee Nature Trail" offer plenty of fascinating insights. If you would like to know more about the wide range of tours or prepare thoroughly in advance, the website of the Olympiaregion Seefeld describes a large number of hikes in detail – everyone will find their own personal favourite route: https://www.seefeld.com/wandern/bergtour
Hiking with Walter
Anyone who would rather rely on the experience and insider knowledge of a local, and who doesn't like exploring the mountains alone, can join our hiking guide Walter. From Monday to Friday he shows our guests his favourite spots in the Seefeld mountains – and he has plenty of stories to tell about them.
Resting & snacking
A proper hike naturally calls for a hearty snack: here you can borrow a rucksack and have our kitchen fill it with local delicacies, to be enjoyed up on the mountain or at an alpine hut, far away from stress, noise and hustle. Because after a good long walk, bacon, cheese and the like taste twice as good.
Relaxing & indulging
And once you return from the mountain, the alpine hut or the long walk with the dog, it's time to get cosy. After a whole day of activity in the fresh air, there's nothing better than relaxing in the Spa Chalet and perhaps catching one last glimpse of the peaks in the evening light from the panorama sauna. The gourmet dinner that follows restores your energy for the next day – and then we sink into our pillows, tired and content. That's what a perfect autumn day looks like here in Seefeld.
