Our history begins in 1928. The Briton Henriette Clements acquires the first plot of land on Geigenbühel and plans a country house with an English concert and tea room and an American Bar. In 1929, she opens Hotel Britannia, the first building of today's Alpin Resort Sacher. From the very first winter it becomes a meeting place for international society, from the nobility to the thinkers of Europe. In 1950, Hilde and Fritz Mauthner acquired the pension; since then, this house has stood for exceptional hospitality on the Tyrolean high plateau. What began as Astoria Resort has proudly borne the Sacher name since 2022 – as the highest-altitude hotel of the legendary Sacher group. Together with Hotel Sacher Wien and Hotel Sacher Salzburg, we rank among Austria's most renowned luxury hotels. Since 2023, we have also been a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
Im emergency, you can reach us at any time via Reception – around the clock. We will arrange medical contact immediately. The most important emergency numbers: Ambulance 144 | Mountain rescue 140 | Police 133 | Fire brigade 122.
With your guest card, which you receive at reception on arrival, you enjoy discounts during your stay with selected partners in the Seefeld region. Details at www.seefeld.com/de/gaestekarte.html
Seefeld at 1,200 metres offers exceptional experiences in every season: alpine hiking routes, first-class golf courses, over 245 km of cross-country ski trails in winter, as well as the lively town centre just a few minutes’ walk away. The state capital Innsbruck also delights with sights such as the Golden Roof, Alpenzoo Innsbruck, the Bergisel Ski Jump and Ambras Castle. Also well worth a visit are the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens and the impressive Tratzberg Castle near Stans. Our Front Office team will be delighted to put together a personalised excursion programme for you.
