On 11 November 2024, the Alpin Resort Sacher Seefeld became the setting for an extraordinary event that brought together hoteliers and industry experts to discuss one of the future models of the hotel industry. Under the motto "Longevity as a Business Booster", the event demonstrated how health, prevention and technology can create new opportunities for the sector.
The event was organised by FIBO – one of the largest and best-known trade fairs in the fields of fitness, wellness, health and bodybuilding – under the direction of Anke Brendt. It was a particular honour for us to host this pioneering event in our house and to contribute to this exciting exchange.
Longevity as the key to a new guest experience
The trend towards a health-conscious lifestyle is increasingly shaping guest expectations. The event provided a platform for exploring innovative approaches to how longevity concepts can not only make hotels more attractive, but also act as an economic driver.
Nina Ruge, founder of staYoung Media GmbH, opened the event with an inspiring keynote. Under the title "Healthy Longevity – A New Era for Human Health", she spoke about the significance of prevention and life extension for modern guests.
This was followed by a series of fascinating presentations:
- Prof. Dr. Uwe Nixdorff (European Prevention Center) examined the integration of preventive medicine into hotel offerings and how this can enrich a guest's stay.
- Dr. Kira Kubenz (IhreGene GmbH) showed how personalised lifestyle optimisation through genetics and epigenetics is creating new possibilities for the hotel industry.
- Manfred Günther (uVida) presented a hands-on case study on AI-supported metabolic analysis.
A day full of insights and exchange
The event was characterised by intensive discussions and a lively exchange between hoteliers and industry experts. The afternoon panel discussion offered the opportunity to talk through concrete approaches and the challenges of implementation.
During the breaks, participants made use of the relaxed atmosphere of the Alpin Resort Sacher Seefeld to make contacts and exchange ideas. The closing dinner rounded off the day with a culinary highlight and provided space for further conversations at the highest level.
A promising future for the hotel industry
The event impressively demonstrated how longevity concepts can revolutionise the hotel industry. The combination of scientific insight, technological innovation and strategic inspiration left a lasting impression on the participants.
The hosts, among them Elisabeth Gürtler and Anke Brendt, were delighted with the response and the quality of the exchange. For many participants one thing was clear: longevity is far more than a trend – it is a forward-looking strategy for inspiring guests while creating economic benefits at the same time.
